Despite being uncharacteristically enthusiastic (for a Dutch crowd) the loud speaking during softer, acoustic moments, was rather a letdown. My only disappointed of the evening lay with the Melkweg crowd. Accompanied by Bobby Alu on drums and Ant Aggs on Keyboard-MPC, last night was a show not to be missed! ![]() I anticipate only great things for this young talent!Īnd then it was time for the main event! Xavier Rudd’s command of the stage, his powerful yet calm and centred aura, entranced the audience for an impressive 2 hour set. His epic base drum and electric ukulele combo was a not only a treat for the ears but astounding to witness. Special guest & drummer, Bobby Alu, set the evenings tone with what I can describe as soothing island-style sounds. ![]() In January 2010, Rudd was one of the last passengers aboard Sea Shepherd ship Ady Gil, days before it sunk after a collision with the MV Shōnan Maru 2 Japanese whaling security vessel. Multi-instrumentalist, surfer, activist, vegetarian, his ability to connect with people is outstanding.īeside music, Xavier Rudd is part of a movement to save our planet with sharing visions with the admirable Paul Watson & links to Sea Shepard. ![]()
